Wrong Reaction

I'd just like to point out that the person who picked this bottle up didn't do it out of any sense of global environmental obligation.

She did it because she was an obsessive-compulsive anal-retentive neat freak, oddly combined with an unhealthy lack of fear of communicable diseases.

We shouldn't be celebrating mental diseases.

  1. Seriously, dude? I hope your kidding.

I would have picked up the bottle. Not for any 'global recycling feel good obligation' but more because it is trash and right next to a receptacle. And then I would have cussed the lazy SOB who couldn't seem to make it into the trash in the first place.

I probably would have picked it up as well and I am definitely, definitely none of the above.

  3. Actually, I might've picked it up, too, but only because the description in that sentence fits me to a T.

Except I would've walked it over to a trash can where it belongs instead of putting it in the recycling bin.

Plastic isn't really recyclable, despite eco-nut wishful thinking to the contrary.

By the way, why is that recycle bin out in the middle of the walkway instead of flush up against the rail?

  4. They should have done this in a park or something; when it's inside somewhere you can step over it knowing it will be picked up eventually, so whatever.

If it's outside you can't ignore it because if you don't pick it up, it's possible no one ever will.
