Cake For One

From Now That's Nifty.

(Normally I'd just link this, but just in case NTN ever goes away, I want to have this handy)

Recipe for "3, 2, 1 Cake:"

1 box - Angel Food Cake Mix
1 box - Cake Mix (Any Flavor)
2 Tbsp - Water

In a zip-lock bag, combine the two cake mixes together and mix well.

For each individual cake serving, take out 3 Tablespoons of the cake mix combination and mix it with 2 Tablespoons of water in a small microwave-safe container.

Microwave on high for 1 minute, and voila - enough cake just for you.

Always remember, that one of the cake mixes MUST be Angel Food. The other can be any flavor. The Angel Food is the cake mix that has the eggs whites in it.

Yield: 1 serving

This recipe is called 3, 2, 1 Cake because all you need to remember is: 3 tablespoons mix,
2 tablespoons water, 1 minute in the microwave.

Wonder if this would work with brownie mix?

  1. Nice idea. Less complicated than the recipe I have for mwaved chocolate cake from scratch. I like easy, simple, almost fool-proof. (I keep looking for fool-proof recipes, but I also keep improving my skills as a fool... )

  2. LOL I wish I liked cake better. I prefer cookies but this is certainly one to remember.

  3. I Googled a little on microwave cookies.

It LOOKS like you can basically take regular cookie dough, put it on wax paper, and put it in on 50% power for a couple minutes.

But you need to keep an eye on them, because the tipping point between "done" and "brick" comes on suddenly, and they won't brown, so you don't get any visual warning.

Please note I haven't actually tried this yet, but it may be worth some experimentation.
