Color!

Early in the summer, I got a geranium for my front stoop, because it was colorful and my house is gray.

About a month ago, a big rainstorm came through and wiped out every single blossom. The plant was still healthy, with nice green leaves, but not a single petal remained.

It's coming back now:

  1. Beautiful :)

I love geraniums. Wow does she look healthy! They love the cooler temps. I bet she looks awesome all through the fall. They'll even take a light freeze...they only have to be covered at night if there's a threat of hard frost.

Wait. YOU have a flower on your front stoop? Who's idea was that??

  2. Just someone who thought my house looked too drab and needed a splash of color for curb appeal.

Sounded like a good idea at the time...

  3. That's a silly question.

If I didn't like it, it wouldn't be there.

I'd say "it grew on me", but people would accuse me of making an awful plant pun.

  4. I think she's pretty.

I have some geraniums that were blooming beautifully and abruptly stopped, as well. It occurred to me that perhaps they needed some miraclegro type soluble fertilizer mixed in with their water every so often. I need to do that. I also need to de-weed my entire lawn. Suggestions?

  5. I'd help if I could, but I have a brown thumb. I'd recommend asking the guy in the Lawn & Garden department of Home Depot or Menard's.

  6. I don't get to either place that often anymore. Good suggestion, though. I'll have to add that to the end of my list... if I could find the end... :P

You should post an updated pic. I bet she's even prettier now. :)

  7. I just picked up a little box of Miracle Grow powder (meant to be put in watering cans) at my local Woodman's for about $5. I'll bet Target might even carry it.
