Minor Gardening Accident

While trimming the aggressive rose bush by my front doorstep, I got a branch in the eye.

Nothing life-threatening or sight-ending, but my cornea did get scratched, and mostly I have to do things one-eyed while the other rests.

I'm finding that, even with glasses on, the "good" eye isn't nearly as strong as I thought it was.

Tiny print is hard to read.

It's gonna be a long day at work, since my job consists mainly of reading tiny print.

  1. These days I have a hard time reading tiny print, too. I click on the icon with three horizontal lines on the right end of my toolbar and hike up the "zoom" to make the tiny print a little less tiny :)

    I am praying for you.

  2. Bummer Harvey...I hope things get back to normal soon...

  3. Actually getting better... I don't need to keep my left eye closed anymore, and it mostly just feels uncomfortable, like I've got a contact lens wedged up under my eyelid.

    Vision's a little blurry, though...

  4. I hope you're feeling better today.

  5. Not blurry anymore. Still have that uncomfortable "stuck contact" feeling, though.

But definitely getting progressively better, and pretty quickly.

Thank you... for caring and praying for me.

  6. I got some non-skid in my eye while out at sea and had to have it removed by the doctor. Basically they picked it out with a needle but it scratched the cornea. They had me wear an eye patch for a week or so. The worst part was that it threw off my balance so I felt nauseated all the time.

As far as your accident goes, clearly we need a law requiring people to wear the proper protective gear when trimming their roses. Obviously people aren't responsible enough to do it themselves. :-)

  7. Amen!

See? THIS is why I hate Obama. He doesn't do enough to protect me! Where was he when I needed him?
